Clean Tech Investment Strategy

East Gwillimbury Cleantech Investment Attraction Strategy
The Town of East Gwillimbury’s Economic Development Branch has partnered with South Lake Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC), Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, and the Region of York, to develop an investment attraction project, designed to draw CleanTech sector business development to the Town of East Gwillimbury.

Clean technology refers to a process, product, or service, which helps to reduce a negative environmental impact. The Town of East Gwillimbury has dedicated themselves to pursuing new businesses that honour missions of energy efficiency, participate in recycling practices, look towards the development of renewable resources - such as wind and solar power, provide and make use of green transportation, and more. 

Investing in CleanTech matters because the climate and quality of life of all, matters. East Gwillimbury is committed to doing their part to help preserve both our planet, and the lives of all who inhabit the earth.

Investment Attraction Strategy

The CleanTech Project will create a strong regional economic cluster, help to develop a balanced and sustainable community for all who reside, work, and visit East Gwillimbury, and will also produce local career opportunities. 

The CleanTech Project will be built on East Gwillimbury’s already strong commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. It leverages both the significant infrastructure investment by the Town and the Region to support growth, while also addressing the emerging policy and regulatory requirements for environmental sound and sustainable technology. The project will create a private sector for: investment and business development - by companies operating in the clean-tech sector, design & manufacturing of municipal infrastructure, as well as those involved in clean-tech research and innovation.
